Expert Board and Train Services in Southern Delaware

Dog owners looking for intensive obedience training have a reliable option with board and train programs in Dover, DE and throughout Southern Delaware. These immersive dog training services allow your dog to stay with professional trainers for one or two weeks, receiving consistent structure and focused instruction that helps build lasting obedience and better behavior patterns.

Off Leash K9 Training Southern Delaware operates from a facility at 35322 Bayard Rd, Frankford, DE 19945, serving dog owners across the region, including Dover, Camden, Magnolia, Smyrna, Milford, and surrounding communities. The training program focuses on teaching dogs reliable obedience commands while addressing common behavior problems like leash pulling, poor recall, and lack of door manners.

Board and train programs provide a structured training environment where dogs stay at the facility for a set period. This allows for intensive training and behavior support that weekly training sessions simply cannot match. Dogs in these programs benefit from training in various environments, which helps build reliability in real-world scenarios.

WHY BOARD AND TRAIN MAY BE RIGHT FOR YOUR DOG

Board and train gives your dog a focused training environment with daily professional guidance. Instead of weekly lessons alone, your dog boards with a trainer and receives consistent structure throughout the program.

IMMERSIVE TRAINING STRUCTURE

Your dog stays with a professional trainer during the program and receives focused instruction designed to build better obedience, manners, and daily behavior.

CONSISTENT COMMAND DELIVERY

Professional trainers use clear commands, timing, and structure throughout the day, helping your dog understand expectations more clearly.

REAL-WORLD OBEDIENCE FOUNDATION

Dogs work on skills like come, sit, down, place, and loose leash heel, with practice around distractions and different environments depending on the program.

HELPFUL FOR BUSY OWNERS

Board and train can be a good fit for owners with demanding schedules who want structured progress without months of weekly classes.

OWNER EDUCATION MATTERS

Training does not end when your dog comes home. Owner education helps you learn how to reinforce your dog’s new skills and maintain progress at home.

Professional board and train programs can help dogs build obedience, structure, and better everyday behavior while giving owners the tools to support long-term success.

Our Board and Train Programs

Off Leash K9 Training Southern Delaware offers 1 Week Board & Train, 2 Week Board & Train, and ExpeditePro™ Board & Train options. The 1 Week Board and Train program is an intensive 7-day immersive experience priced at $1,700. This training program focuses on building foundational obedience skills that help your dog become a well-behaved companion.

During this week, your dog will work on recall (come) off-leash with distractions, sit and extended sit, place and extended place, drop, loose leash walking, greeting manners, door manners, and meal manners. The off command teaches dogs to stop unwanted behaviors like jumping, mouthing, and chewing.

Dogs must be at least 5 months old and potty trained with crate training completed before enrollment. This program is not designed for aggression or major behavioral issues. It focuses strictly on obedience and good manners.

After training, you receive a 1.5-hour one-on-one session where your trainer teaches you how to maintain your dog’s new skills at home.

Off-leash training helps dogs build reliable obedience and stronger recall around distractions. This gives owners more confidence in appropriate off-leash settings while still following local leash rules and safety guidelines. Dogs practice these skills with multiple distractions in multiple environments, helping build real-world reliability.

Our Board and Train Process

Step 1: Free Phone Consultation

During your free phone consultation, you will discuss your dog’s behavior, training goals, and needs. The trainer will help determine if board and train is the right fit or if another program may better address your dog’s age, behavior, and training goals. A free consultation allows dog owners to ask questions and understand the training process before committing to a program. Free consultations are commonly used by dog trainers to assess the specific needs of a dog and to determine the best training approach for the owner and their pet.

Step 2: Program Selection and Scheduling

Based on your consultation, you will choose the board and train program that matches your dog’s requirements and your training goals. You will complete enrollment and schedule your dog’s stay at the Frankford facility. Before drop-off, you will receive pre-training instructions to prepare your dog and ensure a smooth transition.

Step 3: Intensive Training Period

Your dog lives with professional trainers for the full duration of the program. Training focuses on obedience commands, manners, and behavior correction appropriate for the selected program. Trainers work with your dog around various environments and distraction levels to build more reliable responses.

Step 4: Owner Education Session

When training concludes, you attend a one-on-one session (1.5 hours for 1-week programs, 2 hours for 2-week programs) where trainers teach you exactly how to maintain your dog’s new skills. You will practice commands hands-on and receive detailed guidance for continuing training success at home.

We had a great experience with Katelyn! Our 6 month old beagle pup needed a lot of work. Leash pulling, jumping, barking, chewing up everything. Katelyn had her for 2 weeks and she came back a completely different puppy regarding her behavior! She learned so much and Katelyn taught us how to continue the training at home. I’d highly recommend the board and train!
